With the rugby season in full swing, it is no surprise that many players from across the world are making their mark. This list features seven Bay of Quinte products that make the grade.
The first round of championship saw the Loyalist Lancers (Kingston St. Lawrence Vikings), the Peterborough Fleming Knights (Peterborough Fleming Knights) and the Oakville Sheridan Bruins all grace the pitch. A few of the top names are however on the wrong side. Even the Loyalists aren't yet on the right side of the scoreboards at the beginning.
The top honors for most sought-after trophy go to the Loyalists member whose name is displayed on the shirt. James Lowe (former Leinster stalwart) is this man. He has a lot to his credit.

Other than a fight with the winger, there was a few noteworthy performances by the region's top guns. The Loyalists' Scout hat was particularly impressive. It is not for the faint-hearted. Although it's not a home run it is still a remarkable feat for the team.
Aside from a few missteps, the Loyalists' newest entrant had its moments. Among the more memorable were the impressive score by Christine Vandertoorn, and the bruising blowout by Britt Whiting. Amanda Blair's display was undoubtedly the best. Although she was named the OCAA female player of the week, it was the kicking that won the day. Taking advantage of a brisk icy wind, Blair booted three penalty kicks, while also claiming the aforementioned player of the week award.
There were many impressive feats that could be found in both the men's and ladies' leagues of the OCAA. Although it is not unusual to find teams with names like Jackson and Jake, these names might be best kept hidden. The likes "George North", and "George Davidson," were forced to miss Round 2. Due to injury, "Geoff Farrar," "Gabe Davidson", and "George Davidson” stayed home for their win. The Vikings and Lancers still won. Names of other contestants remain a mystery.
But, the OCAA's men's leagues are a different story. Despite the current champs being in the midst a losing streak they have shown the OCAA by showing the Lancers as well as the Vikings that they are not confined to Kingston. As evidenced by their scores this season, they've made some important moves. Even though they are just a few rounds into this competition, they have the potential to secure a top four finish and the elusive top place. If they can keep their heads above water, they'll return to the winners' circle when they reach next year's finals.

It's safe to assume the other OCAA male league contenders will be vying for the title.
