Many players are making their mark in rugby, with the current season in full swing. This listing includes seven Bay of Quinte-based products that made the grade.
The first round featured the Loyalist Lancers and the Kingston St. Lawrence Vikings. Also, the Peterborough Fleming Knights, the Oakville Sheridan Bruins and the Peterborough Fleming Knights all visited the pitch. But, not all the big names are on the right side. Even the Loyalists haven't quite cracked the scoreboards in the early stages.
In terms of the most coveted trophy, the top honours go to the man who's name is emblazoned on the top of the Loyalists's shirt. James Lowe is a former Leinster stalwart and has many points to his name.

Other than a fight with the winger, there was a few noteworthy performances by the region's top guns. In particular, the Loyalists' scout hat was a sight to behold, albeit one that may not be for the faint of heart. It is not a home run but it is an impressive feat for this team.
The Loyalists' new entrant was successful, despite some missteps. Among the more memorable were the impressive score by Christine Vandertoorn, and the bruising blowout by Britt Whiting. Amanda Blair's show was the best. Although Blair won the OCAA female Rugby player of week award for her efforts, the winning game was her kicking. Blair made the most of the windy conditions and scored three penalty kicks.
There were many impressive feats that could be found in both the men's and ladies' leagues of the OCAA. Although it is not unusual to find teams with names like Jackson and Jake, these names might be best kept hidden. "George North" (and "George Davidson") were both injured and had to miss Round 2, while "Geoff Farrar” and "Gabe Davidson” stayed home for victory. Nonetheless, the Vikings and the Lancers each came away with a win. Unfortunately, the names of the other competitors are not known.
It's a completely different story in the OCAA men’s leagues. Despite being on a losing streak, reigning champs the OCAA is not in the dark. However, the Vikings & Lancers have proved to the OCAA that they're not limited to Kingston. These two have made some big moves as shown by the scores they've earned this season. They have a chance to finish in the top four and win the top spot, even though they are only a few rounds in. And if they can keep their heads, they'll be back in the winners' circle by the time they make it to the finals next year.

It's also safe to assume that the other OCAA men's league contenders will be making a run at the title.
